Listened to the audible narration, thanks to Kindle unlimited. LOVE the narrator, she had a great voice and did the male voices without sounding weird or gruff.

Do we really need another book about slavery in the pre-Civil War South? Well, yes, we do, and this is certainly a fine one.

I listened to the Amazon audio option of this novel and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was filled with emotion and heart as it told of a special relationship between a young privileged girl living in a plantation, with her nurse, who was a slave on the plantation.
